There are six different volumes available for the PlayStation, including one ( Namco Museum Encore) that was released only in Japan. The series ran until Volume 5 on the PlayStation, covering various games from the late 1980s, before moving onto the Nintendo 64, all of the major sixth generation and seventh generation consoles, and Windows PC. The series began on the PlayStation with the tentatively named Namco Museum Volume 1, indicating Namco's intent to make further installments of the series. Namco started releasing compilations with the "Namco Museum" title in 1995 and continued for a decade and a half with the last release being in 2010 with the exception of re-releases of previous compilations. The receiver gets the game from Download Play and can play the full game until the system is shut off, although the receiver's scores are not saved. The player can also wirelessly send one of any of the arcade games to another Nintendo DS by selecting "Demo" on the main menu. The player chooses an item to view and then can use the stylus to move the picture around, zoom in and zoom out. This collection also includes the Japanese promotional material and dip switch boards for each game. There is also a music jukebox that allows the player to sample the original game tunes of the arcade games included, also including unused tunes and sound effects in this mode for the various games in this collection. ![]() Galaga, The Tower of Druaga, Xevious and Super Xevious feature a navigation mode that shows various hints and tips throughout the gameplay to assist the player.
